Accessibility
Updated 2026-07-17
We want everyone to be able to use Virginia Trusted Pros, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology. Accessibility is something we work on as we build.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA as a practical target. That means readable text, good color contrast, labels on form fields, meaningful alternate text on images, and pages you can operate with a keyboard.
What we have done
Our pages use plain, structured headings and high-contrast text. Interactive controls such as the search dropdown can be reached and operated with a keyboard. Images that carry meaning include descriptive alternate text, and decorative artwork is marked so screen readers can skip it.
Known limits
We are a small operation and we are still improving. Some interactive maps and illustrations may not yet convey every detail to assistive technology. If you hit a barrier, we want to know so we can fix it.
Tell us about a problem
If any part of this site is hard to use, email [email protected] and describe the page and the problem. We will do our best to help and to fix it.
