Advertising Disclosure
Updated 2026-07-17
We believe you should know how a site that asks for your trust makes its money. Here is the plain version for Virginia Trusted Pros.
How we make money
A basic listing is free. A business can also pay for a Featured placement, which is advertising. We label a Featured listing as advertising every time it appears, so you always know when a business paid to be there.
What Featured is
Featured buys visibility. A Featured listing sits above the free listings on its city and trade pages, and it carries a followed link to the business website. That is what the fee pays for.
What paying never buys
Paying does not earn the License Verified mark. That mark is a fact about a contractor license that we check, and money cannot buy it. Paying does not move a business up any merit ranking, because we do not rank or rate businesses at all. Paying does not let anyone hide accurate information or a complaint.
No paid reviews
We do not sell reviews, and at launch we do not host consumer reviews. If that ever changes, we will say so clearly and we will not let anyone pay to change what a review says.
Why we disclose this
Federal Trade Commission guidance says advertising should be clear and honest, and that paid placement should be obvious. We agree. Labeling Featured listings and telling you exactly what a listing means is the whole point of how listings work.
