This policy explains what personal information Virginia Trusted Pros collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Virginia Trusted Pros is an open home-services directory published by Andrew Lee Jenkins. Marty Hobbs is a written host character, not a separate company.
Information we collect
When a business applies for a listing, we collect what the business gives us. That includes the business name, a contact name, email address, phone number, website, service area, an optional street address, and a Virginia contractor license number. When you buy a Featured placement, our payment processor handles your card details and we receive a record of the payment, not your full card number.
When anyone visits the site, we automatically receive basic technical information such as your device type, browser, and a general, city-level location estimated from your IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful.
How we use information
We use this information to run the directory, to verify contractor licenses, to email a business about the status of its listing, to process a Featured payment, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to improve the site. We do not sell personal information.
What is public
An approved listing is public by design. The business name, trade, city, website, phone number, and license-verification status appear on the site so homeowners can find the business. A business asks us to publish this. Information you send us that is not part of a public listing stays private.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us operate, such as our email sender, our hosting provider, and our payment processor, and only so they can perform that work for us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

How long we keep information
We keep a business listing and its records for as long as the listing is active and for a reasonable period afterward for our records and for legal and accounting needs. You can ask us to delete your information, and we will unless we are required to keep it.
Your Virginia privacy rights
If you are a Virginia resident, you have the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, to obtain a copy of it, and to opt out of the sale of personal data or its use for targeted advertising or certain profiling. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front, but you can still exercise your other rights.

Security
We use reasonable measures to protect personal information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Children
This site is meant for adults running or hiring home-services businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. If we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top and note it on this page.
